What is Harp?

Nearly 80% of the world are addicted to music. But the type of music, that they hear may vary from person to person like beats,melodies,carnatic... Some might listen to music or some may listen the lyrics. Each would be liking their own Musical Instrument. HARP is a Stringed Instrument which has the plane of the string positioned perpendicular to soundboard. Each instrument has a Neck, Resonator and Strings. Resonator is a material, which would be producing or Emitting Sound at a particular frequency called Resonator Frequency. This frequency may vary depending upon the material used.
Two types of Harps used are
  1. Frame harps [ Harps which have a Fore pillar in it ]
  2.  Open harps [ Harps that doesn't have Fore pillar in it ]
          This type of instrument would be having Strips. The instrument can be played with the help of this strings which’s usually made of Nylon, Gut, Wire or Silk. A person who plays this instrument is Harpist or Harper.We would be hearing folk or carnatic music, so the musicians who play the harp can prefer “Harper” or “Harpist” respectively. So many types of Harps are found in rest part of the world.
            Today this instrument is Rocking the world with it’s stunned music that’s coming out from it. Although it gain its popularity only in the 21st century. But it’s not given as much importance in early 19th century. The Musician composers in that time thought that harp is a women’s Instrument, after Marie Antoinette popularized it as a Lady’s free time.
There was no museum for harp till 2005, after this it have been started in Italy by Victor Salvi. From that, the popularity of the instrument goes to the peak.
