The Brihadeeswarar temple or Braghadeeswarar Temple  (also spelled Brihadeshvara Temple or Birhadeeshwara temple) is an ancient Hindu temple located at Thanjavur in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
The vimana (main tower) of the temple is about 65 m high and is the tallest in the world.
The temple is made up of 130,000 tons of granite.      And the most important feature of the building is that its believed,at no time of the day the shadow of the gopuram will not fall on the ground.
The temple is also an architectural exemplar showcasing the pure form of the Dravida type of temple architecture and representative of the Chola Empire ideology and the Tamilcivilisation in southern India.
